FEDERAL ROAD SAFETY CORP, EDO STATE COMMAND
The Mind Management Foundation had a recent outing in the ancient city of Benin, Edo State Nigeria. The 3 Day workshop was organized for two establishments. The first stop was the Federal Road Safety Corp Sector Command Benin. The event was attended by dozens of officers of the Sector Command who listened with rapt attention and participated actively taking notes and asking questions afterwards. The workshop ended on a high note and the attendees gave very positive feedback to the Sector Commander on the impact the training had on them. Upon hearing the testimonies from the first session, the Sector Commander contacted the Facilitators of the MMF workshop and invited them to come in the very next day for another session. This time around he invited all the Area Commanders for the different units of the FRSC across the state and they were all in attendance.
It was a most impactful and engaging program as the officers were taught on mental fitness and suicide prevention. Everyone in attendance was immensely grateful for the training as it was applicable not only in the work place but also in family relationships and personal wellbeing.
The Area Commanders looked forward to taking the knowledge acquired to their units and apply it in daily dealings.
The Sector Commander commended the MMF for their efforts in dealing with mental health and suicide prevention. He recommended that this training should be made available to all FRSC commands nationwide stating he will send a report to the National Headquarters to that effect.
About 50 persons were in attendance with over half of them indicating interest to work as volunteers to spread the work of the foundation reaching more people and saving lives.
